Aena awarded Indra and Avánzit Tecnologias Temporary Consortium the supply, implementation and startup of the Wireless Communications System in twenty four Spanish airports for over euros 5.1 million.

The turnkey project includes a cutting-edge centralised WiFi network solution whose design gives priority to the strictest levels of stability, security, availability and performance. The technical analysis takes into account the following criteria: compatibility with network electronics of each location, geographical uniformity in order to optimise support and maintenance services and similar experiences in the airport environment.

The offer comprises a wide range of upgrades which are based on the technological capacities, expertise and experience in the sector by both companies which will surely place the airports on top of corporate mobility within the sector.

There will be more than one thousand four hundred access points that will be distributed among the twenty four airports in a way that simultaneous voice and data services will be included, as well as WiFi devices with the highest levels of security and availability within a centralised management environment. The wireless technology will be provided by three leading manufacturers.

The capacity of the WiFi switches and the service and management licenses ensure growth and flexibility in the future which will help extend the network’s lifespan. Besides this, the solutions offer the highest degree of redundancy and availability which guarantees 100% of its performance when needed.

Outdoor coverage was emphasized as the access to the airport’s communications systems is critical and impossible to accede to through other traditional IP systems.

The participation of Indra and Avánzit Tecnología in this Temporary Consortium is an evidence of Aena’s trust in their capacity to carry out technological projects which positions both companies as a bench mark in the sector of large telecommunications network for airports and passenger traffic centres.
