Indra and the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico create the fisrt chair in accessible technologies in the country

Indra and the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico have established the first Research Chair on Accessible Technologies in the country with the aim of developing innovative solutions and services in the areas of accessibility and inclusion.

The director of the Higher School of Computer Science (ESCOM), Francisco Apolinar Cruz, the executive secretary of the Academic Activities Operation and Promotion Commission (COFAA) of the National Polytechnic Institute, Cuauhtémoc Acosta Díaz, and the director general of Indra in Mexico, Jorge Arduh, signed the collaboration agreement for the Indra-IPN-ESCOM Chair in Accessible Technologies.

The first Indra Chair in Mexico, is the second to be established by the multinational in this area in Latin America and is an addition to the eight existing chairs in Spain, which have already developed projects of global scope such as the Headmouse and the VirtualKeyboard.

The Chair in Accessible Technologies at the National Polytechnic Institute confirms the commitment of Indra to innovation and corporate responsibility. The main objective of new technologies and innovation is improving and facilitating people's lives and, by means of these chairs, transforming the technological revolution into a social revolution for all.

Commitment to Accessible Technologies

Created as part of Indra's Corporate Responsibility strategy, Accessible Technologies aim to develop innovative solutions and services that minimise the digital breach and facilitate the social and occupational integration of disabled people through their access to technology. The company has already developed more than 40 R&D&i projects in this field and has created nine Research Chairs on Accessible Technologies in collaboration with a number of universities and foundations.

With this initiative, the multinational seeks to provide new solutions for society and markets and become an international reference in the pursuit of excellence in accessible technologies development as well as a university-business collaboration and technology transfer model.
