  • The company's leading worldwide solutions for railway control and transportation ticket sales will be on display at its stand along with the latest developments for signalling and the integration of train-land telecommunications
  • Indra maintains its commitment to innovation in the railway sector by developing state-of-the-art solutions that it has already implemented in countries such as the United States, Malaysia, Lithuania and Colombia

Indra, the leading Spanish multinational consulting and technology firm and one of the main players in Europe and Latin America, will present its cutting-edge technological solutions for the railway sector at the BCN Rail International Railway Industry Show that will take place in Barcelona from the 19th to the 21st of November.

The company's stand will have four areas that highlight the main technologies for the world of high-performance trains: control centres, signalling, telecommunications and ticketing.

The company will display the latest version of the DaVinci system, which has been developed by Indra, is the intellectual property of Adif, and is considered the most advanced railway traffic management platform in the world. DaVinci manages all the high-speed railway lines in Spain, the train lines in Morocco and Lithuania, and the Medellín subway. It will also be the solution used to manage traffic along the future Mecca-Medina high-speed railway line in Saudi Arabia.

The STACrail (Technological System for Railway Traffic Assistance) system will also be exhibited in the multinational's stand. This multifunctional tool has been designed for environments that are not equipped with Centralised Traffic Control (CTC), such as FEVE in Spain, and it enables the overall management and control of rail transport.

Indra's latest ticketing and access control technology will also be present at BCN Rail. The multinational will bring to Barcelona one of the most advanced transportation ticket sale systems that has already been implemented for Renfe's commuter train network in Spain. Indra is one of the leading ticketing companies in the world, with customer references that include the Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Chile, Mumbai and Shanghai subways, the Mexico DF suburban railway, the St. Louis light train and the Austin light subway in the United States, and the railway lines in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

In the field of railway signalling, Indra will bring to Barcelona its ASFA Digital on-board system, specifically the console that allows operators to interact with this Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system. One third of the trains in Spain have already been equipped with this Indra technology that adds functionality to the conventional ASFA system and holds the SIL 4 security certificate (Security Integrity Level), the highest as per the European standard.

As far as telecommunications, Indra will show its capabilities for integrating train-land communication systems using broadband technologies and specific railway communication solutions using GSM-R.

Cutting edge technology for the sector

Indra's commitment to the railway sector and to innovation has enabled the company to develop proprietary cutting-edge technology with a high potential for exporting. This is confirmed by projects such as the Saudi Arabia Mecca-Medina AVE, for which Indra is the technological partner, as well as other projects that have been carried out in countries such as the United States, Malaysia, India, Lithuania, Colombia and Morocco.

Indra also continues making significant innovation efforts in order to complete the development of state-of-the-art railway technologies in the field of railway safety and signalling, for technologies such as ERTMS Level 2 or ASFA Digital, among others.
