  • The NetPlus platform of the multinational consulting and technology firm handles all card payment issues and processes over 200 million operations per year totaling 14 billion euros
  • This certificate will provide Indra clients with the possibility of developing new business models from a secure platform, paying only for what they use and without the need for large investments

Indra's NetPlus payment platform has obtained the maximum security qualification awarded by the PCI SSC (Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council) for its card payment services in "the cloud". The PCI SSC (Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council) certificate is required by the leading worldwide credit card companies (Visa and MasterCard) and will allow Indra to provide payment method services within its own infrastructure.

This standard will make it easier for clients of the multinational consulting and technology firm to outsource business processes that involve credit or debit card storage or processing with the maximum security guarantees. It will also facilitate the maintenance of card processing rights and avoid demanding infrastructure and information system audits and the payment of fines derived from fraudulent credit card use.

Moreover, it represents the first step and a necessary milestone in Indra's strategy to promote its payment services, which already include other added values and new entry channels like IVR (Interactive Voice Response), and expand the processing capacities of the platform to an international scope. The ultimate goal is to provide the multinational company's clients with the capacity to develop new business models, such as payment by smartphone, in a global context via a proven and secure platform, without the need for large investments in systems, development or equipment and staff management.

This initiative has also provided Indra and its data processing center in San Fernando de Henares with all the security and operational knowledge and methodology required for this certification, both as regards its infrastructure and its services and processes.

NetPlus, which handles all card payment issues, was developed as a proprietary technology by Indra over 20 years ago. Today it processes over 200 million operations per year totaling 14 billion euros. It accepts all types of payment methods through a wide range of channels, integrating the information with the source systems, centralizing all payments, and managing all the associated operations (integrity, security, accounting reconciliations and reversals). The platform solves the needs of any line of business where payments are made. It can also be integrated with other transactions, such as cell phone top-ups and prepaid credit, money transfers, and customer loyalty programs.

The NetPlus "cloud" version forms part of the new SaaS (Software as a Service) portfolio of the multinational consulting and technology firm, which already comprises more than 40 horizontal and vertical end-to-end services that provide a specific solution to concrete business needs and will gradually incorporate new products.
