  • The participants resolved a practical identification exercise of a critical vulnerability in a real system
  • The platform is deployed on the Minsait cloud with the most advanced security measures to facilitate the rapid organization of events and training anywhere in the world
  • It has already been used in several global events and has offered simultaneous joint training to law enforcement agencies from several countries

During the event

Minsait, an Indra company, provided access to the cloud-based cybersecurity training platform Minsait Cyber Range to the participants in the Cybersecurity Conference organized by the Spanish Civil Guard and  the University of Salamanca (USAL) to perform a joint Capture-The-Flag (CTF) exercise.

The company organized and designed the cyber-exercise lasting approximately four hours in which joint teams of IT and Law students put their skills to the test.

The participants resolved an identification case of a critical vulnerability in a real system and its exploitation, following the phases of a pentesting process.

Pentesting is a defensive technique used by cybersecurity professionals to evaluate the security of systems and take measures so that attackers can not take advantage of them to steal data or gain control over them.

The didactic and gamification capabilities of the Minsait Cyber Range platform allowed the participants to learn these skills in a practical, entertaining way, fostering a sense of competition among them.

To achieve this goal, they were guided by an automated track system, so that when they got stuck when facing a challenge, they could ask the platform for instructions to continue with the challenge and, in this way, to 'learn by doing'.

Minsait technology allows complex scenarios like this to be hosted within the Minsait Cyber Range platform, enabling direct access from the cloud. Users only need a computer with a web browser to compete, saving them having to install complex tools on their computers. This contributes to the success of events and exercises.

When using this type of platform, Minsait brings its advanced cybersecurity capabilities and partnerships with the industry and training organizations to respond to the need for cybersecurity training and the cyberdefense of military and civilian entities.

Minsait offers support to these organizations to quickly and effectively prepare their cyber workforce, so that they can face increasingly frequent and sophisticated cyberattacks in the best conditions.
