The Atica XIX Business Park in Pozuelo (Madrid), owned by Merlin Properties, has achieved LEED Existing Buildings (EB) Gold certification, thanks to Minsait's advisory services.

This is one of the most demanding sustainable construction standards in the world and its achievement recognizes Merlin Properties' commitment to the construction of environmentally friendly buildings that offer the best conditions for their occupants.

Thanks to the improvements implemented with the advice of Indra's subsidiary, the buildings and common areas consume between 35% and 45% less energy, achieve savings of almost 40% in tap water and have offset 335 MT of CO2 in emissions to the atmosphere.

The proposed modifications to the farm's operation and maintenance guidelines made by Minsait during the certification process have led to savings of between 35% and 45% in energy consumption.

Water consumption has also decreased by 38% thanks to the modification of the sink faucets and a sustainable cleaning program has been implemented in the common areas, which, in addition to being healthier for users, uses environmentally friendly cleaning materials.

The air quality chapter has been another important point of the project. Thanks to Minsait's advice, 335 MT of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere have been offset for a period of two years. Another important factor that has been highlighted is the proximity of the business park to different means of public transport and its contribution to reducing emissions generated by private vehicles.

Minsait has collaborated in recent years in the certification of more than 30 Merlin Properties buildings with the main sustainable building standards LEED or BREEAM.
