Description of the Project
The project “Advanced, Disruptive and Emerging QUAntum technologies for Defence” (ADEQUADE) aims at providing a breakthrough in different quantum-sensing domains which will develop capabilities with significant technological, operational and strategic advantages over existing defence products or technologies in different warfare areas (PNT – position, navigation and timing -, radio frequency sensing and optronics sensing).
Industrial Partner
Indra´s Rol
Indra provides an active leadership in two work packages related to use cases and requirements, and to the maturation of the technology, leveraging advantage of its solid base and practical experience in the fields of research and technology to system transfer. It also has active participation in activities devoted to RF sensing as Indra background and experience matches the required expertise of this working line.
Universities and Technology Centers
Technologies Employed
Many technologies have been initially identified to be worked within ADEQUADE. In the PNT section (positioning, navigation and time) the study of technologies such as atomic clocks, inertial sensors and gravimetry based on cold atoms or solid-state magnetometers will be addressed. In the area of radiofrequency technologies based on Rydberg atoms and nitrogen-vacancy centers will be studied. Also, technologies such as detection of single photons for their application to imaging systems are contemplated.
