- Indra chairman Marc Murtra today visited the head offices of the new subsidiary in the United Kingdom to celebrate with professionals and clients the completion of the operation, which will consolidate the company’s position in the country
- Indra is also complementing its portfolio of solutions for the civil and military air traffic markets and preparing to harness the synergies of the new center in the United Kingdom and those in Spain, Norway and the US
- The company will thus strengthen its position to compete for contracts around the world, including the bidding process underway in the US to renew the communications of the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA)
Indra has become the world’s leading provider of ground-to-air communications systems for the air traffic, aerospace and defence businesses after completing the acquisition of the British Park Air company from Northrop Grumman.
Today, on the occasion of this milestone, Indra chairman Marc Murtra took part in a celebratory event at the headquarters of Indra Park Air in London, at which he highlighted that “this operation will consolidate Indra’s position in the United Kingdom as a leading technological company in critical sectors and boost its presence in strategic markets. We’re stronger today and we have greater engineering and production capabilities for complex systems to meet the demands of our customers."
Indra Park Air managing director Fiona Thompson said that “being part of Indra opens the doors to some of the world’s most cutting-edge air traffic and defence projects and enhances our ability to continue innovating and delivering exceptional communications systems. We’re proud to join this great company.”
Indra’s subsidiary in the United Kingdom comes into being with over 120 employees and a stable partner network enabling it to supply civil and military communications systems to more than 100 countries. Its main customers include air navigation service providers (ANSPs), airports, system integrators and governmental military organizations.
This experience will strengthen Indra’s position to enable it to compete for contracts worldwide. Indra is competing in the NEXCOM Version 3 (V3) program which is currently being tendered by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to replace the in-service ground-to-air radios that are reaching the end of their service life. Park Air has supplied its communications systems to this client for over 25 years.
Following the approval of the relevant authorities, Indra has completed a purchase process that began in June, when it reached an initial binding acquisition agreement with Northrop Grumman.
