Description of the Project
The European Detect and Avoid System (EUDAAS) project will develop and validate, through simulations and flight tests, a 100% European Detect and Avoid (DAA) solution as well as increase the maturity of non-cooperative sensors, to enable the use of RPAS in a much wider and flexible way than currently possible. DAA will enable safe integration of RPAS into non-segregated airspace so that RPAS can operate along with other manned and unmanned aircraft, in order to train for, and conduct, security and defence missions in peacetime, crisis and conflict.
By leveraging on the available European investment/background (MIDCAS, EUROCAE, SESAR as well as national and industrial developments), and working with the European standardisation (EUROCAE) and regulation (EASA and national CAAs), a standardised and certifiable DAA solution will be ensured, fitting the European airspace.
