Indra will have a significant presence at Innotrans 2024, the main global event for the railway industry set to take place in Berlin from September 24 to 27, where it will showcase its latest digital signalling, traffic management and ticketing solutions to drive more efficient, safer, better-connected and more sustainable mobility.

The company will showcase its advances in its new open digital signalling systems (ERTMS Level-2) and proprietary wireless signalling solutions, enabling progress towards more automated, safer, and more intelligent railway management and facilitating asset management. Indra works in an open and interoperable digital signalling ecosystem that, with the highest levels of safety and cybersecurity as one of its key pillars, will permit all types of technologies to coexist, which can integrate with third-party systems, with an approach that prioritises collaboration, innovation and security.

It will also exhibit its traffic management system (TMS), a state-of-the-art system that’s more digital, secure, connected, reliable and efficient and increasingly suited to the needs of railway operators. Indra’s solution provides operators with a unique vision and enables the automation of the operation, improvement in the use of network capacity, operating cost reductions, and enhanced safety. In addition, it improves punctuality and traveler information services and provides fast and efficient incident management, which results in better passenger services.

Key to this new mobility is improving the passenger experience through the application of cutting-edge technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. which boosts smart ticketing solutions with account-based models. These systems offer an advanced and efficient model for applying the best fare and discounts based on each user's profile. Additionally, Indra will showcase new ticket vending machines at its stand, which have an aesthetic and usability similar to that of a smartphone, given that they can display information and multimedia content to passengers and interact with them via a touch screen. Indra is also developing Be-In-Be-Out access control systems, where validation is done automatically without requiring any action from the traveler.

As a result of its commitment to innovation, Indra has become one of the leading technology companies in the railway sector. Its latest end-to-end technology solutions have positioned it at the forefront of the sector and they have been or are being rolled out in countries such as Spain, Lithuania, Ireland, Estonia, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and India.

As for ticketing systems, besides boasting important references in cities such as Madrid, Riyadh, St. Louis, Lisbon and Amsterdam, Indra will be tasked with managing the entire ticketing system for the trams, buses and national railway network of Ireland, as well as the future Dublin Metrolink, one of the most important electronic ticketing contracts in the world, which the company recently won thanks to its innovative technology and its ability to manage complex projects.
