Born in Madrid, in 1974.

Mr. Escribano is co-founder and owner, along with his brother Ángel Escribano Ruiz, of the company Escribano Mechanical and Engineering, S.L.U., founded under the name Mecanizados Escribano in 1998. He currently holds the position of CEO, having previously been General Manager and Executive Chairman of the company.

Responsible for the transformation of a small mechanisation workshop into a benchmark technology development and innovation company for the Defence and Security sector at national and international level.

In 2011 he was the architect, along with his brother Ángel Escribano, of the company's great leap forward, through a vertical growth strategy which incorporated design engineering for the full development and manufacture of complex defence systems, doubling turnover and highly qualified employment annually, from €6M to €100M in less than 10 years.

Until 2018, he was responsible for the internationalisation of the company, which earned more than 90% of its turnover in foreign markets. The consolidation of the company included investment in new facilities, machinery and new strategic capabilities up to the consolidation at a national level. It currently participates in the main national strategic Defence and Security programmes in Spain.

Turnover in 2020 was 73M€, having concluded 2023 with a turnover of 115 M€, an EBITDA of 22 M€, and a BBB rating as a profitable and solvent model.

Javier Escribano has transformed the company into a benchmark of innovation, with unique industrial and strategic capabilities in Spain, such as remote stations, electro-optical systems and guided ammunition kits, investing more than €37M in R&D&I in the last four years.

In 2020, in the midst of the COVID crisis, the company led by Mr. Escribano manufactured 5,000 respirators that were distributed throughout Spain in less than 8 weeks, and started to become a part of TESS Company and later of the SMS company. The company went from almost 400 employees in 2020 to the current 1,000 highly qualified employees that comprise its workforce.

24.67% stake in the capital of TESS DEFENCE, S.A. (50% jointly with his brother Ángel Escribano Ruiz), where he is a member of the Board of Directors.
45% stake in the capital of the company SMS, (50% jointly with his brother Ángel Escribano Ruiz), where he is a member of the Board of Directors.
