We are at the forefront of the development of the platform and services for the connected and autonomous vehicle, enabling the management, exchange and interpretation of information of all devices connected to IoT networks, including the management of both vehicles and their integration in infrastructure and mobility. Thanks to the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques, we make the most out of a fully connected and autonomous mobility.
Our C-ITS platform is a pioneer in Europe for the development of the connected and autonomous vehicle and smart traffic management.
This solution is made up of a set of interconnected subsystems:
- C-ITS platform (C-ITS): que ofrece servicios C-ITS securizados(Day 1, Day 1,5, etc) a los vehículos
- Road Side Unit (RSU): offers secure C-ITS services (Day 1, Day 1.5, etc.) to vehicles
- On Board Unit (OBU): roadside subsystem that enables the exchange of information between vehicles and C-ITS
- Human-machine-interface (P-ITS): mobile application that enables remote interaction with the system functions
Our solution has adopted a hybrid V2X communications technology model based on short-range and cellular technologies (ETSI ITS-G5 and 4G/5G). This model allows us to use a new management and operational approach, which enables information to be sent and received directly to and from vehicles and sensors with the use of different technologies, generating a data flow that enables a new range of possible services and use cases in traffic management.
These characteristics have enabled us to improve highway operation and security at the early incident detection level, as well as to manage them and implement preventive actions when facing such incidents.
Our mobility and infrastructure platform integrates C-ITS in control centres, enabling the automation of incident management in roads and tunnels. Different incident response strategies are activated by means of configurable action plans, such as the activation of C-ITS information or traffic management services that are communicated to the connected and autonomous vehicle.
We are leaders in smart mobility in the services market for the autonomous and/or connected vehicle. We have worked on the definition and development of the C-ITS platform and services for vehicles through various European benchmark research projects, such as FOTsis, AUTOC-ITS, SCOTT, C-ROADS, SECREDAS and SHOW.
We work on the coexistence of current ITS systems with the new C-ITS systems and on the coordination of technologies to achieve the maximum performance of control centres.
We participate in the C-ROADS Spain project, as partners of the consortium, led by the General Traffic Department, in which we act as a technology provider, developer and implementer of C-ITS services in the Madrid and Cantabria pilot projects. The Madrid pilot includes the deployment of our C-ITS platform in Madrid Calle 30, which is responsible for integrating data from numerous sources of information (traffic states, forecasting construction work, accidents, car park occupation levels, weather, etc.), and with different C-ITS and MSW gateways from different suppliers for the automated deployment of C-ITS services (Day 1 and Day 1.5).
We participate in the WG2 and WG3 work groups of the C-ROADS Platform, which works on the standardisation of different aspects of the deployment of services for connected and autonomous vehicles.
Likewise, Indra works to guarantee C-ITS cybersecurity in the SECREDAS and SCOTT projects. In both projects, we are developing new security technologies to roll out secure services, covering different environments, such as communications, the cloud and distributed smart processing, which increase the levels of privacy and security for the automated systems and data in any type of connected vehicle.
We are also working on the SHOW project in the Madrid pilot, in collaboration with the EMT, providing our C-ITS service technology to improve the perception of a pilot line of autonomous buses that will be launched during the project.
