Project Description
The objective of the project is to design and develop an innovative communications and services infrastructure adapted to the hospital setting, addressing the integration of several tools and processes within its architecture, and with the aim of facilitating management, control, monitoring, and remote access to equipment and devices.
Some of the challenges faced are:
- Development of an automatic and scalable alert system that is suitable for the equipment and the business models that have been defined.
- Transparent interaction of both clinical technical staff as well as technical staff (manufacturers, operators, etc.).
- Predictive online maintenance of medical equipment (both in the hospital as well as the specialised support centres).
- Optimised cooperation between medical staff, hospital technicians and service centres.
- Dynamic management of the staff services provided, planning operations and interventions, schedule and hours for medical care.
- Optimised equipment use by the medical staff by locating the closest type of equipment required (using technologies such as RFID).

Indra's Role
Indra has acted as the coordinating entity for the Spanish consortium and it has been the contact point with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce.
Additionally, on a technical level, Indra has fundamentally participated in the following activities:
- Identifying system requirements.
- Designing logistics components.
- Implementing strategies for defining services.
- Applying RFID technology to equipment management.
- Defining the system´s communications infrastructure and integrating it with the other components.
- Defining the system´s mobility framework.
- Participating in the design of the system for capturing data from medical devices, as well as the interfaces.
- Designing and managing the project´s international website.
