Project Description
The project is part of SHIFT²RAIL Innovation Programme IP4 -“IT for an Attractive Railway”, and contributes to its objectives together with IT2RAIL, the lighthouse project started in May 2015, and ATTRACkTIVE, launched in parallel with CO-ACTIVE.
The overall objective of IP4, to which CO-ACTIVE will contribute, is to provide new concepts, tools, and systems to improve the attractiveness of rail transport by offering more intuitive and engaging travel experiences to customers while shielding them from the complexity and heterogeneity of services for door-to-door intermodal journeys .
More specifically, CO-ACTIVE aims to:
- Improve services and customer quality by orchestrating multiple processes and managing services failure, automatic re-accommodation, and reliability of functions, across mass transit transport modes and including also shared and personal transport modes.
- Enrich the Customer Experience by innovating on the interface domain and the use of personalised data, in a secured and integrated environment, whatever the number of business partners involved in the journey definition.
- Simplify business processes for the customer by automating as much as possible post-sales processes and providing fast resolution for re-accommodation.
- Enhance interoperability, strength the booking and ticketing concepts to facilitate market update and ease of integration with the interoperability framework.
- Improve standardisation by harmonising business terms and definitions of processes for the different services across the targeted Transportation Modes.
