Project Description
The scope of the project includes the implementation of "Smart Coruña" urban platform and launching the Smartcities PMO of Coruña.
The urban platform "Smart Coruña" will provide tools for management and integration of all services and smart solutions that will build a smart ecosystem of a city in areas such as environment, energy, urban mobility, health, safety, leisure and tourism and e-government . This management center will empower different systems to exchange information with each other in order to provide a complete vision of the city activity. It will also include analysis tools to predict behaviors of the city (citizens, facilities, traffic, etc.) regarding the use of services in order to foresee and act proactively to future needs.
The Project Management Office (PMO) provides Technical Coordination, Technical Management and Project Management, providing tactical and strategic visions in order to ensure sustainability of the project in such a way as to ensure its continuity and extension.
Collaborating Companies or Organisations
Indra's Role
The role of Indra covers the overall project leadership, the Project Management Office (defining the strategy, dissemination, communication and executing the monitoring&controlling processes of the project) and the deployment of an enriched version of “SOFIA”, Indra’s Internet Of the Things Platform. Our partners in the consortium are "R", "Altia" and "ILUX". The role of "R" is to lead the communications layer, capturing data from sensors and managing lines R&D hardware lines, "Altia" will develop the Opendata platform, portals, business intelligence solutions and manage the hardware / software platform. Finally "ILUX" will provide the Geospatial and Holistic Management modules.
Universities and Technological Centres
Technologies used
SmartCity Platform is based on ATENEA platform components of Indra, and contributions from joint venture partners
- SOFIA2 is the Platform for Internet of Things (IoT). This platform is the central core of sensors information, providing management and analysis capabilities.
SOFIA2 allows to integrate information from multiple data sources (sensor networks, information systems, internet, ...), offers common data processing infrastructure, data enrichment and advanced support for third parties developing services using processed data (DATA SMART) available following a OpenData scheme.
- New generation Sensors and Actuators Platforms, in order to be able to measure a wide range of parameters in urban areas, with ultra low power and advanced capabilities beyond monitoring (high precision positioning, tracking of people and objects ...).
- Urban Integrated Management System (SIG-U). The system approaches WOA (Web Oriented Architecture) and Cloud technologies, combined with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), 3D visualization techniques and augmented reality (AR), which will work with a large number of variables and data from various sources, in real time.
Smartcity Portal will offer to citizens and companies of Coruña an OpenData platform made from enriched backend system data (population data, vehicles, citizen card, etc..).
