Description of the Project
The project “Enhanced Pilot Interfaces & Interactions for fighter Cockpit” (EPIIC) aims at tackling the huge technological challenges of the future air warfare and the collaborative combat by identifying, assessing and developing highly innovative technologies and disruptive interactive modalities to be integrated into future fighter cockpits.
Industrial Partner
Indra´s Rol
Indra is one of the main actors in EPIIC Project, with a relevant stake in several key topics of the next generation cockpits. Indra leads the workpakage devoted to the physiological monitoring of the pilot and play an important role in the workpackage devoted to the derived cognitive states (led by Dassault Aviation).
Indra also plays a relevant role in the workpackages devoted to pilot’s helmet technologies (led by Thales) and Interaction Technologies (led by Airbus DS SAU). In the first workpakage we are leaders of two tasks that tackle Virtual Reallity / Augmented Reality as well as sensors integration in the helmet, and in the second, we are leaders of another two tasks (Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) and Eye Tracking).
