Project Description
Currently, most European Armies address the modernization of the equipment of their soldiers, not only the weapons, but also the communication systems, sensors, etc. These Soldier Systems usually lack common interfaces, what hinders their use in operations in the framework of coalitions. Recently, Open or Generic Architectures applied to Vehicle Systems have succeeded to overcome this problem.
GOSSRA aims at developing a Generic Open Soldier System Reference Architecture. This Reference Architecture will recommend specific approaches, guidelines, system structures and standards to be used such that the individual Soldier Systems are easier to develop, maintain, upgrade and enable interoperability.
