Project Description
HARMONY’s objective is to promote multimodality while improving transport capacity utilization, by carrying out a study and deploying a Multimodal Information Service. It aims to harmonize and standardize the use and exchange of transport information among different actors and systems involved in the transport domain, considering the travelers as an innovative information source to take into account in mobility management.
The study will propose a data structure (including datasets, physical and logical procedures, etc) that will be used to implement innovative services. As part of the study, other aspects besides the harmonization will be tacked, such as the impact on final user/operator performance, guidelines to extend the deployment to other European transport infrastructures, Business Models and SWOT analysis.
This study will be aligned with the interest of promoting standards of urban multimodal data set, interfaces, information, communication and control systems in the field of transportation, which is manifested through different standardization groups.

Indra's Role
Indra, as action (project) coordinator, will monitor the development of the whole study, guaranteeing its success in terms of timing and quality.
The Action is divided in five sub-activities, being Indra directly responsible for:
● The Activity 2: Pilot Deployment, in which the harmonization of the reference datasets approach defined in activity 1 will be validated. It encompasses the definition of the use cases, including logical and physical implementation and its real deployment involving public and private traffic transport operators.
● The Activity 5: Management and Communication, including project management communication and dissemination tasks, ensuring the technical, administrative and financial implementation of the Action in accordance with the related regulations and program requirements.
INDRA also participates in the rest of the activities:
● Activity 1: Specification of the study scope
● Activity 3: Pilot assessment
● Activity 4: Exploitation analysis
Universities and Technological Centres
Technologies used
In relation to standardization and regulation, the directive 2010/40/EU will be followed, as well as international regulations such as ISO/TC 204 Intelligent transport systems, ISO 24014-1:2007 Public transport – Interoperable fare management system, ISO TC204 Intelligent transport systems, and European ones, CEN/TC 278, participating in the appropriate working groups.
