The health and safety of its employees are a top priority for Indra, beyond strict compliance with legal obligations.

Indra is committed to continuous improvement of health and safety, putting forward activities that promote well-being and foster a culture of prevention in all the activities carried out by the company.

The Joint Prevention Service (JPS) is a key tool that provides coverage to more than 25,000 employees in Spain in the field of Health, Safety, Ergonomics and Counselling. This service allows all of Indra’s employees, regardless of their geographical location or activity, to conduct their work safely.

The company has set an objective of reducing each year to the minimum the number and severity of incidents related to health and safety. The JPS also sets objectives on an annual basis through its programming of activities that is shared with all the company's Health and Safety Committees.

This annual programme covers all the actions to be carried out in the field of occupational risk prevention, such as initial and periodic general assessments of occupational risks, specific assessments of Safety at Work, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics and Applied Psycho-sociology, Specific Technical Reports and their subsequent Planning of Preventive and/or Corrective Actions, Information, Training, Health Surveillance, etc.

The Board of Directors oversees the management of health and safety related risks through the Audit and Compliance Committee and formally approves the relevant indicators included in the company’s Sustainability Report.

The company conducts a risk assessment on health and safety related issues both for potential new and existing projects. For any new project, Indra's Joint Prevention Service (JPS) asks the Project Manager for the data needed to comply with what is established in terms of health and safety, and it is the beginning of the communication between a new project, and the JPS. See Manual of Prevention of Labor Risks.

All reported occupational health and safety incidents, with or without leave, including in itinere, are investigated and documented by the Joint Prevention Service and corrective actions are taken in each case.

Indra promotes a culture of prevention in all the activities carried out by the company and to this end develops both training and awareness activities. In 2020, more than 3,000 professionals have completed the training course on occupational health and safety in Spain.

All over the year, the company runs a program addressing global health issues that are relevant for the wellbeing of the professionals. This includes the Well-being Week, 5 days and 40 activities around the world: a week to promote well-being and improve the physical, mental and emotional health of employees with activities focused on healthy eating, physical activity, healthy habits, stress management, caring for others and, in 2020 as a new item, financial well-being.
