Project Description
SHOW is a project of the European Commission whose main objective is to support the migration process towards sustainable Urban Transport through technical solutions, business models and priority scenarios for impact assessment. The project comprises the deployment of shared, connected and electrified fleets of autonomous vehicles in coordinated networks of Public Transport (PT), Demand Responsive Transport (DRT), Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and Logistics as a Service (LaaS), in operational urban chains, and in a real environment, throughout the European continent.
Connected and autonomous vehicles are a current issue society, so priority uses are sought for automated urban mobility, ensuring high user acceptance, real user demand and profitability under a realistic operating conditions, respecting legal, operational and ethical limitations.
The project will enable the identification of new business roles and the development of innovative business models and exploitable products / services for sustainable automated fleets operations in urban and suburban environments, as well as the evaluation of their impact at city and urban traffic level.
In this way, the project follows the path of other projects such as C-ROADS and AUTOCITS related to the deployment of connected and autonomous vehicles in Spain, involving companies, public authorities and universities.
Collaborating Companies or Organisations
Indra's Role
Indra will participate in a Bus Pilot of EMT (Public Transport Operator Company of Madrid). The pilot will be carried out in Madrid aiming for the driving automation in an urban environment, adapting the OAS to receive information provided by the infrastructure and act in consequence.
Indra will install 2 Roadside Units (RSU) that will provide information to the bus fleet regarding traffic conditions, weather, accidents, etc., in order to offer a more efficient and safe public transport service. This information is provided through the C-ITS control centre, which integrates all sources of information and contributes to the management of mobility in a specific area.
Indra has been linked to connected and automated vehicle related projects, as C-ROADS or AUTOCITS, and with the OAS as HARMONY.
Universities and Technology Centers
Technologies used
The following solutions / technologies will be developed in the project:
- SOperational Assistant System (OAS)
- Cooperative systems (V2X)
- Management Traffic Systems
