Project Description
The European project TEDS4BEE aims to deploy the EMMOS Digital Service (Energy Management and Monitoring Operational System) in selected buildings located in five countries. EMMOS will make possible to collect, store and analyse consumption data and other parameters that influence energy consumption such as temperature, humidity, NOx, CO2, comfort level, light intensity, etc. It will facilitate building managers and ESCO’s (Energy Service Companies) to identify actions to improve energy efficiency and will help local authorities define better energy policies.
Under the TeDS4BEE project, EMMOS will be implemented in sixteen (16) public buildings together with five clusters (Italy, Iberian (Spain-Portugal), UK-Ireland, Poland and Serbia).
TEDS4BEE brings together in the consortium the full value chain (ICT providers, ESCOs and public building owners), as well as universities, research centers and the clusters association in seven European countries. This variety of partners and buildings will make a very comprehensive set of test cases to enable future replication.
Collaborating Companies or Organisations
Indra's Role
Indra brings its expertise as an ICT service provider leading the WP3 (Adaptation of the Digital Service: EMMOS). Within this WP3, Indra will carry out hardware and software modifications to deploy HORUS in a building within the Iberian Cluster. HORUS is a supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) that has been deployed previously in several public infrastructures (Buildings, Tunnel, Prisons, etc) in Europe and South America.
During this project, Indra will perform the hardware and software adaptations to deploy HORUS to collect energy consumption data from the selected building and send all this information to EMMOS for their analysis. It will facilitate building and infrastructure managers and ESCO’s (Energy Service Companies) to identify actions to improve energy efficiency and will help local authorities define better energy policies
Indra will be also involved in the dissemination and exploitation activities at European level.
Universities and Technological Centres
Technologies used
HORUS offers the possibility to integrate a wide range of sub-systems that can be monitored from a Control Centre. HORUS allows building / infrastructure managers to control and monitor all the electrical sub-systems (from lighting equipment to ventilation systems) that have any impact on the energy consumption.
The following figure shows systems that can be integrated in the HORUS.
In addition, HORUS offers the possibility to define a ruled-based engine in order to optimize the resources of the building / infrastructure. Managers can define a logic to control in a smart way all the building / infrastructure resources. HORUS also offers a wide selection of graphs and diagrams to monitor and analyze the status all the equipment. Moreover, all data collected is stored to be downloaded and analyses by other external sub-systems. Within TEDS4BEE, HORUS will provide a very friendly HMI and data collection while the analysis of this data will be performed by EMMOS.
