- The company will exhibit electronic defence systems whose implementations are currently underway in the A400M aircrafts of 6 countries, among other platforms
- It will unveil its radar systems currently in service in the five continents either for defence or air control purposes
- Indra will present upgrades in the development of its unmanned systems (UAS) and Manta system, conceived for Manpad threat avoidance
Indra will attend le Bourget Paris Air Show, the main event of the aeronautics sector in Europe, to be held from the 20 to the 26 of June. The company will exhibit its electronic defence and radar surveillance systems as well as the latest developments in unmanned platforms.
In electronic defence, Indra will provide thorough information about its ALR-400 radar Warner. These systems are embarked on the A400 European military transport aircraft. All units to be delivered to UK, France, Spain, Germany, Turkey and Malaysia will be equipped with these systems which can detect and manage threats in a most complex scenario. The systems have been implemented in platforms such as: F-18, Tiger, NH-90, CH53, Chinook or Cougar helicopters.
The latest developments of the MANTA system will be exhibited. The solution was conceived to protect aircraft from directional infrared Manpad threats. Indra will present it at Le Bourget after success of the first texts during experimental flight.
Indra’s solutions catalogue is wide and includes radar, communication, IFF or optical electronic systems. Besides this, the Spanish company is one of the most active European partners in the development of representative systems such as the Praetorian radar or Eurofighter DASS system of electronic defence.
The company will showcase its air space radar surveillance systems, specifically the capacities of the LANZA 3D radar family. This radar family meets the most demanding requirements established by NATO countries. They are the backbone of Spain’s early warning network which guarantees the security of the country’s air space and have been acquired by countries such as Uruguay and Portugal.
The Primary radar in Mode S will also be displayed. It monitors civil aircraft in air space simultaneously, without interferences and in a clear way. The system is capable of detecting aircraft in adverse weather conditions and is specially designed to back up civil air traffic management. The solution has been implemented in over 14 countries, in the five continents.
One of the latest developments in the segment of unmanned aircrafts (UAVs) is Indra’s Pelican system. It consists of an unmanned helicopter which recently obtained the Experimental Airworthiness Certificate and will be fully operational in a few months.
This UAV was specially conceived to be embarked on ships and to perform maritime and border surveillance activities in the struggle against piracy etc
Finally, the new Mantis system will also be exhibited. The system is equipped with gyro stabilizer and was designed to be carried and deployed by one or two people fast and easily. It has the capacity to capture images in real time, in daylight or at night, in a radio of dozens of kilometers.
Indra also started up the PASI system, the first tactical UAV used by the Spanish armed forces in Afghanistan.
