  •  The agreement reached with Indra will allow to provide better training for the youth participating in the Banesto Foundation's YUZZ programme

  • Indra will make available to the programme a team of professionals who will share their experience at the various YUZZ centres throughout Spain.

The Banesto Foundation and Indra reached an agreement so youth participating in the YUZZ, a source of training and consulting for entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 30 with technological ideas, may combine their training and continue working  towards making their business projects a reality.

Indra, the top IT multinational in Spain and one of the leaders in Europe and Latin America, has joined the Banesto Foundation's YUZZ programme as one of its partners on a national level. Indra will make available a number of professional experts to the programme for presentations and meetings in order to share their experiences with young entrepreneurs from the various centres in the country. These professionals will comprise a teaching staff of 275 multidisciplinary instructors from the corporate world, business schools, consulting firms, etc.

In addition, both entities will organise an event known as “YUZZ & Indra”, which will take place simultaneously at all the high performance centres in the country. The young entrepreneurs will have to undertake a "challenge" in real time that will require all their skills, ingenuity and corporate abilities.

They will also have the opportunity of visiting the company's facilities throughout the year in order to observe first-hand the daily activities of a leading company in their industry.

This initiative is in line with Indra's global and open commitment to innovation. Indra searches for and promotes innovation and talent internally as well as through its relations with customers, partners, vendors, universities and knowledge institutions and their support for entrepreneurs. Promoting the entrepreneurial spirit is essential for creating a more innovative ecosystem, which is the foundation of the knowledge economy.

YUZZ, a commitment to innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit

The Banesto Foundation's YUZZ project was launched in 2009 with two high performance centres--one in Barcelona and the other in Madrid. Since then, it has grown exponentially, and in the new 2012 edition, YUZZ will reach 34 cities throughout the country, with the participation of more than 700 young entrepreneurs. It is worth highlighting that in the programme's three editions, a total of 400 technological companies have been established.

Throughout the YUZZ programme's seven month duration, the Banesto Foundation and all the partners and collaborators from the various cities have provided selected individuals with the necessary support for developing their idea in the market--a network of experts, business training, personalised tutoring and consulting, a collaborative online work platform, and the necessary administrative and legal support for viable ideas.

Once the seven month training and consulting process is completed at the YUZZ centres located throughout Spain, the best youth will travel to Silicon Valley, the global mecca of innovation in the area of new technologies. In addition, at the end of the year, the three best projects from all the finalists in the national edition will receive a financial award (€30,000, €20,000 and €10,000) to help make their business idea a reality.

In this new 2012-2013 YUZZ edition, the Banesto Foundation's programme will reach 34 cities located throughout the nation: Las Palmas, Barcelona, Girona, Sant Cugat, Tarragona, Terrassa, Sant Feliu del Llobregat, Lleida, Madrid, Pamplona, Santander, San Sebastián, Ermua, Bilbao, Álava, Valencia, Alicante, Castellón, Zaragoza, Murcia, Burgos, Albacete, Palencia, Cáceres, Ciudad Real, Málaga, Granada,  Seville, Oviedo, Palma de Mallorca, A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra.

The YUZZ programme currently includes more than 60 local partners that make it possible for the programme to be carried out in 34 cities with individual training centres. Another aspect worth highlighting is the collaboration on a national level with business schools such as IE Business School, ESADE and IESE, along with other organisations that include Indra, Intel, Secot, Emprendedores magazine, Adigital, the Prince of Girona Foundation, and the social communication platform Tuenti.
