• The company has grown twelvefold in the region in the last six years and half of its international sales are from this area
  • Brazil is the multinational's second largest market after Spain
  • 14,000 of Indra's 42,000 professionals work in Latin America

The technological company Indra will close the 2012 financial year with a turnover increase of 8 to 9%, thanks in part to its success in the international market. Latin America's contribution to sales will be around 25%, exceeding the figure of €700M by the end of the year.

The growth of the international markets and Indra's participation in some of the world's most ambitious technological projects are allowing the company to compete on a global scale and develop cutting-edge solutions.

In this context, 55% of its sales are from outside Spain and Latin America has become its main foreign market. The company has increased its income in the region in the last six years by a factor of twelve and half of its international sales are from there.

Latin America is a strategic and priority market for Indra and a benchmark in its international expansion. Its dynamic economies not only offer major business opportunities, but also produce highly qualified professionals and state-of-the-art research centres.

Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Chile are the countries in which Indra is showing most growth. It is also consolidating its position in other countries, such as Panama. In terms of turnover, Brazil is Indra's second largest market after Spain. Moreover, it has established an International Division there as a launch pad for its international expansion and its advanced solutions in the global market.

Commitment to talent

14,000 of Indra's 42,000 professionals work in Latin America. This figure shows its commitment to value creation and talent wherever the company operates. The multinational has 9 Software Labs and 17 centres of excellence in Latin America.

The future of the region demands a continued effort to foster the modernisation of its infrastructure and public administrations and the improvement of health and safety conditions. Indra is working in this scope through the provision of cutting-edge solutions and high-value services.

The modernisation projects carried out by the company include the overhaul of Mexico's Tax Administration Service systems, the improvement of the processes of Ecuador's Transitional Judicial Council, and the implementation of the new management system for the grid of the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity.

Indra is also working on La Florida Hospital's health system for the Chilean Ministry of Health's South Eastern Metropolitan Health Service. In other key sectors, such as energy, Indra is the leading provider of technology solutions, working with major companies like Ecopetrol, which is Colombia's largest company and the fourth largest petroleum company in Latin America, and Petroperu, Peru's largest state company.
