- Indra will be present at SITDEF, the International Fair aimed at defence and the management of natural disasters that will take place in Lima
- It will attend as a pioneer in the implementation of the systems that manage security in Spain as well as in Buenos Aires and Madrid
- It will also display its offering of air surveillance systems, maritime surveillance, UAVs, electronic defence, cyberdefence and simulation
Indra will be present at the 4th International Defence Technology Exhibition and Prevention of Natural Disasters (SITDEF), which will be held in the General Army Headquarters in the city of Lima (Peru) from the 15th to the 19th of May.
Indra is a reference company in the defence and security sector, and it has participated in developing the most advanced defence platforms, such as the A400M, the Eurofighter, the Galileo positioning system, the Leopard combat vehicle, systems for state-of-the-art vessels, ships and submarines, the European GMES land observation system, and the Spanish Paz and Ingenio systems.
In Peru, it will unveil its extensive offering of C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) solutions, that cover airspace surveillance, border surveillance, cybersecurity, electronic defence, as well as communication and simulation systems, among others.
Indra will also share at SITDEF its solid experience as a pioneer company in the development of emergency management systems. It has developed a system of this type for the Military Emergency Unit (UME in Spanish). This system constantly monitors the risk level for the country's security and it also coordinates the operations of its forces domestically and also on international missions.
The company has also implemented the security management centres for the cities of Madrid and Buenos Aires adn is currently working on launching the future Emergency Response Centre (ERC) for the European Commission.
In terms of airspace surveillance, Indra will offer information at SITDEF about its Lanza 3D radars, which are currently in service in Uruguay and have been ensuring the security of south western European airspace for more than ten years.
Its stand will also contain a reproduction of its new MRI P2006T maritime surveillance and intelligence aircraft. This light aircraft includes an electro-optical system, radar and an AIS vessel identification system, allowing it to offer improved detection capabilities at the lowest acquisition and operation cost on the market.
In the field of maritime surveillance, Indra has implemented the systems that protect more than 5,000 km of borders and it also leads the Perseus project, which has the aim of integrating all the coastal surveillance systems throughout Europe.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
The company will display in Peru a reproduction of its Mantis unmanned tactical aircraft, which is easily deployed and can monitor an area within a 30 km radius. It will also provide information about the Pelicano UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) helicopter, which has a range of approximately 150 km.
In the areas of cyberdefence and cybersecurity, Indra will provide information about its experience in designing and implementing the most modern solutions for the dynamic control of risk and situational awareness (including intelligence solutions for anticipating attacks), the prevention and mitigation of attacks, and an active response to incidents.
In the area of electronic defence, Indra has a varied offering of intelligence, surveillance, alert, self-protection, and countermeasure systems for all types of platforms (land, air and sea) that it will present at this event.
It will also provide information about its satellite communication systems. The company has worked with Brazil's Ministry of Defence to expand and improve its SISCOMIS network, and it has rolled-out a large portion of the Spanish SECOMSAT satellite communication network. It offers solutions that can be implemented in ships, aircraft and land vehicles, as well as transportable equipment. The Armed Forces of countries such as Portugal, Germany, Italy and France use Indra systems.
Lastly, the company will provide information in Lima about its simulation systems. Indra is one of the global leaders in this field and it has delivered more than 200 simulators in 19 countries for 51 customers. Proof of this is that the company has led the Eurofighter simulator development programme and it has provided its systems to the US Navy. It has also set up the FAMET Spanish Army Airmobile Forces training centre for Chinook, Cougar and Tiger pilots. The company is currently working with AgustaWestland and Eurocopter in the development of various systems.
