The multinational has signed a contract with Electricidade de Moçambique, the public power company of this African country, to implement support systems for the technical and commercial business processes related to the distribution of energy throughout the country. The SIGEM (Supply, Installation & Training of an Integrated System for Electricidade de Moçambique) project is worth US$7.5 million and it is financed by the World Bank as part of the “Overall Loan for the Whole EDAP Project”.
With this agreement, EDM will adopt the InCMS (Commercial Control, Management Control and Energy Balance) and InGRID (Distribution Network Incident Management System) solutions that have been developed by the multinational. The scope also includes the implementation of the GIAF solution, Indra's ERP system for the comprehensive management of finance, human resources and logistics aspects.
The new systems will make it possible to lower technical, commercial and operating costs thanks to an improved control of energy balances and network incidents, reducing customer debts and increasing staff productivity. They will also provide major improvements to customer service quality through the use of new interaction channels (web portal) as well as shorter response times. Implementing these solutions will facilitate the automation and standardization of procedures in the power company and also significantly increase the quality of information for decision making.
Electricidade de Moçambique is the nation's public company aimed at producing, transporting, distributing and commercializing electricity, with a total of nearly 1,300,000 customers.
Leadership in the implementation of energy solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa
