  • The partnership will create the first hybrid cloud to offer services from Spain to the rest of the world, while Indra Flex IT - Indra's cloud infrastructure management model - will encompass Microsoft's world-leading solutions
  • The multination has thus reinforced its existing range of cloud services to cater to global growth and its clients' functional demands from the cloud platform

Indra has selected Microsoft Azure, Microsoft's open and flexible cloud servers platform, to enhance the management capacity of its cloud services worldwide. The partnership will see the consulting and technology multinational optimize Indra Flex IT - its cloud services management solution - while creating the first hybrid cloud solution to provide infrastructure services to clients worldwide from Spain.

Flexibility, international growth and low costs

As part of its range of technology infrastructure management services, in 2011 Indra began developing cloud infrastructure to provide "as a service" solutions. The initiative culminated in the development of Indra Flex IT, which combines all the benefits of public and private clouds, bringing the provision of infrastructure and services into line with the business demands of clients at any given moment, who pay only for what they use. The solution helps bring down operating and capital costs thanks to improved performance and efficiency, allowing Indra to quickly provide services based on physical and/or virtual resources.

Working with Microsoft Azure offers Indra a number of business benefits, including cost savings, a more extensive catalog of cloud services thanks to the public cloud and the ability to incorporate infrastructure in key regions to cover global business requirements.

Furthermore, incorporating Microsoft Azure into Indra Flex IT ensures that the system is able to respond to key business demands. These include temporary loads, which necessitate high capacity levels quickly and flexibly over short periods of time; DEV/TEST environments, for application testing and development; and disaster recovery, with payment only upon activation or testing. Other important aspects include large data storage, backup and archiving capacity, as well as the provision of applications as a service (SQL, Oracle and Sharepoint, among others).

Indra will thus further enhance its comprehensive range of cloud services and solutions (Indra in Cloud), covering the entire transformation to cloud process, from production through to technology consumption. It already provides services to approximately 2,500 companies in a number of industries, overseeing more than 25 million transactions annually.
