Indra, Spain's premier consulting and technology multinational and one of the largest in Europe and Latin America, has signed an agreement with the Mozambique Ministry of Science and Technology to partner on driving the "Technological Mozambique" program and helping to train local talent via professional internship programs.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) will see recent technology graduates in the country enrolled on professional internship programs at Indra, with emphasis on R+D+i programs and projects. Specific training action will also be run.
Furthermore, Indra will partner with the Ministry of Science and Technology to drive forward the "Technological Mozambique" program, seeking to improve the qualifications and technical and technological expertise of young Mozambicans, thus enhancing their job prospects. Indra's partnership with the Ministry will initially benefit recent graduates, but the program will also spur the country's technological capacity.
Indra is currently active in Mozambique deploying its technology to manage electricity distribution and supplies for the country's state power utility, Electricidade de Moçambique. The project is strategically important to Indra, with Mozambique offering significant growth potential, particularly in the electricity and oil markets. The multinational is also developing projects in the airport industry and air traffic management in the region.
Commitment to innovation and talent
As part of its open innovation model, Indra partners with more than 250 innovation and knowledge institutions, holding agreements with over 180 universities and research centers, 68 of which are international. It currently funds 23 university research chairs, two of which are outside Spain. This cooperation allows the company to remain engaged with innovation, attract talent and access the latest technologies.
