Project Description
The fundamental objective is to define, design, implement and asses a scalable multilink and multitechnology architecture for providing advanced telecommunication services, enabling a convergence between the various dissemination methods available (broadcast, multicast, mobile, etc.).
The project is based on two technical pillars, which are:
- Multilink network technologies. The convergence between mobile services, dissemination services, and wide bandwidth is essential for providing ubiquitous services at any time.
- Modular scalable architecture. MARCH is working on a modular scalable architecture for multilink networks, including standardisation topics, so that the networks may be rolled out at significantly lower costs.
Collaborating Companies or Organisations
Indra's Role
Indra will participate in the following activities:
- Defining the architecture.
- Defining the business case: fleet management scenario in emergency situations.
- Defining the modular network architecture.
- Defining network traffic policies.
- Analysing the protocol tree to be used for a convergent and scalable design, and proposing technical multilink solutions in layers 2 and 3.
- Technical mobility application based on IP (MIPv4, MIPv6, HMIPv6, FHMIPv6, NEMO, etc.) for the various use cases.
Supporting the design of the Spanish demonstration.
