Project Description
The objective of the SeniorChannel project is to integrate innovative technologies along with high value added contents in order to provide people of advanced age (primary users) with an opportunity to interact and share their knowledge, opinions and aspirations among their community as well as to enjoy entertainment associated to this experience.
To achieve this goal, the consortium of the SeniorChannel project will develop an Interactive IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) Channel, SeniorChannel, that will not only provide older people with a method for interacting with their surroundings, but that will also allow them to access various activities offered by interactive digital television. It consists of a new method for social participation which also adapts to the new society that is also made up of older people, the Digital Society, and which will also allow them to interact in order to share their leisure time, their experiences, and their vision of various aspects related to everyday life.
In addition, this project will create an integrated TV studio and a production centre, both low cost and easy to use, that will allow to disseminate contents aimed at and created by older individuals using the TV channel.
