INDRA AT FARNBOROUGH 2012

“Monitoring borders from the air”

For the first time, Indra is taking part in the FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW 2012, where it will present the P2006T MRI system, a new light aircraft for naval surveillance, which can be found in the static exhibition area for medium range surveillance aircraft.

Features of the MRI
A light twin-engine aircraft with a high-wing configuration that can patrol areas between 30 and 200 nautical miles from the coast, which is highly competitive in terms of purchasing and running costs.

Technology
Equipped with the latest Mission System with AESA radar, a state-of-the art, high resolution, large format electro-optic system, an AIS vessel identification system and Indra’s ISIS Mission System.

Environmental capacities
The features of the AESA radar, and its SAR modes in particular, combined with the infra-red camera in the electro-optical system, make the platform especially suitable for environmental monitoring in marine areas.

Real-time mission tracking from land and from the Control Centre
The operations of system aboard are linked to a Mission Control Centre on land via a custom-designed, state-of-the-art radio-link, as well as via satellite.

At the end of the Airshow, the aircraft will relocate to Cumberland airport near Edinburgh, where the trials will take place for the Seaspray 5000E Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar with which the system is fitted.
