Gartner´s Market Guide for Advanced DistributionManagement Systems (ADMS) has recognized Minsait as a “Representative Vendor”, and IDC has named Indra´s company as a “Major Player” in IDC´s “EMEA Service Providers for Digital Grid Enablement 2019”.
Gartner says that Minsait (ACS) has improved its capabilities by integrating SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and completing its OT (OT / Operation Technology) solution offering with new network automation applications and management of DER, as well as having a relevant presence in the US, the main Smart Grid market worldwide.
On the other hand, the IDC MarketScape recognizes Minsait`s deep technical expertise to provide new services in the digital network transformation field that include the management of energy resources using distributed edge computing, grid simulations and network forecasts, drone-based line inspection for fire detection and vegetation management and the use of virtual reality for risk-free training during operations.
The report also highlights the support and flexibility the company offers its customers in the execution of their projects, its contribution to the modernization of the energy sector in Africa and Minsait benefits from the large network of its parent company, where its partnership with Intel is particularly important.

Reduction of the environmental impact and costs
“Minsait’s digital network technologies have already been implemented by many customers from different geographical regions, who are reaping benefits by integrating a greater amount of renewable generation and reducing their environmental impact and operating costs while improving security”, states Benítez, who refers to major initiatives such as the electrical micro power grid at Monash University, the largest in Australia.
This micro power grid is the key piece of the Net Zero Initiative program, which won the UN Momentum for Change Award at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) during the COP24 (Climate Change Conference in Katowice, Poland). Minsait experts expect that the university will be able to generate 7 Gigawatts per hour of electricity by 2020, enough to supply 1,000 homes for a whole year.
Moreover, Minsait is part of the SENSIBLE (Storage Enabled Sustainable Energy for Buildings and Communities) consortium, an innovation project aimed at integrating various energy storage technologies, both in the distribution network and in homes and buildings, with the purpose of increasing self-sufficiency, supply quality and stability of the network to create sustainable business models for distributed generation and energy storage.
Other examples of Minsait’s ability to provide new services to its customers in the digital field is the use of immersive virtual reality for safer and more efficient employee training (such as the project carried out for Endesa’s thermal generation department) and the use of augmented reality in operations.
