Respect and protection of human rights are part of our culture.
At Indra, we are committed to respecting the dignity and rights of all people. And we work proactively to prevent any abuse related to our activity or that of our collaborators.
This commitment is reflected in our Code of Ethics, in our Human Rights Policy (see below) and in different internal regulations and procedures. In addition, we extend it to the entire value chain, from suppliers to customers.
The protection of human rights falls under the supervision of the Board of Directors, through the Sustainability Committee. It is responsible for promoting and monitoring the implementation of our ESG Plan 2024-26, which includes specific objectives in this area.
It is important to highlight that, even though Indra manufactures and provides support systems for Defense and Security, the involvement of the company in the provision of support systems and services for conventional weapons amounts to less than 1% of the total revenues of the group.
Our due diligence system is based on the "Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights" of the United Nations (UN).
In addition, our frames of reference are the International Bill of Human Rights, the Declaration of the International Labor Organization and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, to which Indra has been a signatory since 2004.
In 2020, we updated our Human Rights Policy to better align it with our risks and to be able to more proactively manage to address them.
We work to develop technology with a positive impact on people and society.
We have internal policies and processes in place to promote respect for labor rights, avoid discriminatory practices and promote a respectful and encouraging work environment.
We strive to promote human rights in the societies in which we operate.
We require suppliers to comply with our ethical commitments included in our Code of Ethics, our Human Rights Policy and our Supplier Sustainability Policy. We have a due dilligence procedure in place to ensure compliance of our suppliers with our sustainabilty requirements.
Our due diligence includes identifying and prioritizing the direct and indirect impacts of our activities on human rights.
We track results through periodic impact assessment updates, establish indicators, and participate in working groups, organizations and multi-stakeholder forums to gather trends and expectations.
We rely on external experts for these assessments such as Global Compact and Fundación Seres.
We identify priority issues for Indra and our stakeholders by involving business decision-makers.
We prioritize risks and opportunities based on the context, the company's strategy and our stakeholders, especially the most vulnerable (women and people with disabilities).
We evaluate direct and indirect impact.
