Description of the Project
The objective of the IA4TES project is the development and innovative application of Artificial Intelligence technologies to solve the challenges of the sustainable energy transition, enabling a new electricity system paradigm:
- Mainly renewable production, a mix of centralized and distributed, integrated with energy storage technologies.
- Automated, optimized grid, capable of providing bi-directional services to all types of users and interlocutors.
- New services that facilitate users' autonomous use of new electricity consumption patterns, and with an optimized design of the different markets.
So that the whole guarantees efficiency, a system free of greenhouse gas emissions and, therefore, the sustainability of the energy model.
Industrial Partner
Indra´s Rol
As lead technology partner, Minsait is leading the four work packages related to the implementation of advanced artificial intelligence solutions in the areas of: smart sustainable production, smart grid, smart consumption and optimal integration of renewable generation in energy markets.
Specifically, the company will coordinate projects that will study the application of these technologies to optimize the operation and maintenance of assets used in wind and photovoltaic generation. To this end, it will work on the development of systems that facilitate real-time detection of operational risks and on automatic learning models to predict battery failures and estimate the useful life of equipment.
Minsait will also lead the development of technologies that enable distribution grids to efficiently and flexibly address the unstoppable penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER). To this end, it will propose systems capable of anticipating the impact of these resources in the long, medium, and short term and of planning their integration while optimizing investment, as well as other solutions to anticipate the risks of failure and cross-impacts of all grid components and equipment that may affect the continuity and quality of supply.
Finally, Minsait will apply artificial intelligence to the development of a new framework of energy coordination services that enable the "smart" participation of residential and commercial customers in energy markets. To this end, solutions will be studied that automatically connect customers with the electricity system in real time to make decisions that enable them to reduce their bills, together with tools that provide aggregators (the representative of small consumers in the market) with sufficient capacity to coordinate the interactions of hundreds of thousands of small customers.
Universities and Technology Centers
Tecnologies Employed
Minsait's participation in IA4TES includes the development of Intelligence use cases in 5 of Phygital's 6 priority offer lines, one of the four strategic vectors for the company's growth.
In addition to analytics and artificial intelligence, Minsait will also contribute its capabilities in IoT-IT integration technologies, automation and distributed intelligence, platforms and user experiences and digital twins to the project.
