Description of the Project
Ground Combat Capabilities (GCC) are a development priority for EU member states. One of the areas of interest in this domain is Next Generation Dismounted Soldier Systems (NGDSS) for improving individual protection and operational awareness.
Although the modernization of the soldier systems has been addressed by various projects at national level (SISCAP, FELIN, IdZ...), there has been no harmonization at European level.
The ACHILE project will answer these challenges, developing innovative solutions throughout the specification, design and development cycle. ACHILE will address these objectives from a holistic point of view based on four pillars: soldier core capabilities, soldier extended capabilities, soldier team capabilities and extended team capabilities.
The development of the system will be based on a modular solution based on building blocks, taking into account the generic reference architecture that was defined in the GOSSRA European project.
Industrial Partner
Indra´s Rol
Indra will lead the design of the soldier core capabilities, for guaranteeing functionalities to each individual in the platoon, regardless of their role. These core capabilities will integrate functionalities for navigation, power, agnostic communications, training and simulation, mobility, protection and camouflage, battlefield management (BMS) and C4I equipment.
In addition, the company will lead some of the most relevant work packages from a technological point of view, such as augmented reality, mission planning, simulation or interoperability with external systems, and will contribute to the development of the BMS, the solution of situational awareness or the engagement.
ACHILE will consolidate Indra as a european leader in the NGDSS field.
