Description of the Project
The European AGAMI_EURIGAMI project aims to strengthen and pave the way towards an unrestricted, competitive and strategic European supply chain for supplying high performance radio frequency electronic components using Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, which will be required in current and future critical military systems. Research activities are focused on improving European technology solutions to implement the use of high-performance GaN throughout the supply chain, semiconductor manufacturing, integrated devices, including circuit processing and encapsulated systems.
With the creation of a supply chain in Europe, a more efficient system, increased device reliability and the production of a highly competitive product are achieved.

Indra´s Rol
Indra is leading a work package related to the design and verification of demonstrators to be performed for the application of gallium nitride technology in current and future technologies. Moreover, it is actively involved in the study and identification of essential defense-related requirements that today remain a challenge for the European gallium nitride supply chain. It will analyze the requirements of foreseeable components in the defense field that will be able to apply such technology, compare them with the capabilities available in Europe and translate them into individual targets for future development.

Technologies Employed
For the realization of the project, different methodologies involving the use of gallium nitride have to be handled, in order to demonstrate the capability of the processes and features of the new technology in applications such as: broadband HPA, robust LNA, Small and highly integrated RF frontend, Packaged X-band high power amplifier.
