His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias presented Indra's Managing Director Javier de Andrés, with the award of the Circulo de Empresarios and the Wharton School of Pennsylvania acknowledging the company’s trajectory in the international market. Indra has been acknowledged as one of the first Spanish companies with a stronger international presence since 1993, where it was born, and with sales accounting nearly for a 50% of revenues.
The event took place today during the presentation of the Círculo de empresarios-Wharton School's yearbook about the internationalization of Spanish companies, 2011 at the headquarters of the Ramón Areces Foundation in Madrid. Besides Indra, Acerinox and Grifols were also awarded.
For five years the Circulo de empresarios and the well-known Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania have published a yearbook about the international position of those Spanish companies whose trajectory deserves acknowledgement, and this year Indra has received the award.
Claudio Boada, Chairman of the Circulo de Empresarios and Mauro Guillén, Director of the Lauder Institute-Wharton School intervened and Antonio Vázquez, Chairman of Iberia spoke on behalf of the award winners.
The event was also attended by Deputy Minister for Commerce, Jaime García-Legaz Ponce and was brought to a close by His Royal Highness Prince of Asturias.
Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is among the world’s leading and most prestigious business schools.
