Indra, the premier IT company in Spain and a leading IT multinational in Europe and Latin America, announced today the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cisco, worldwide leader in networking, to collaborate in the development of advanced Cloud Computing technologies and services. The MOU was signed today by Indra's Executive Vice Chairman Regino Moranchel and Cisco EMEA's Senior Vice Chairman for the Southern Region, Jordi Botifoll.
The agreement will permit define new business opportunities as well as the establishment of a new co-joint marketing strategy to promote the solutions of both companies in this sector. It will also significantly improve the value proposition of Indra's Cloud Computing services to its clients by reducing costs at the same time it enhances processes and operations by optimising automation, security maintenance and reliability of services.
Both companies will study the actions required to promote Indra as one of the main suppliers of the Cloud Computing platform and define a financial model for the technology multinational to tackle the future expansion of the platform with optimal alignment in terms of investment and administration of the life cycle.
The content of this agreement is within the framework of Indra's new strategy to supply Cloud Computing services with an advanced delivery model called FLEX-IT. This model employs the Cloud's potential to optimise outsourcing services in a hybrid environment using delivery on demand modality.
This solution, based on Cisco’s Data Center architecture which includes UCS servers and other communications and security elements, facilitates reduction of capital and operational costs along with higher performance and efficiency. This in turn favors Indra with a fast provision of servers as well as virtual and physical resources. The new FLEX-IT model is already available for the company’s clients.
As Regino Moranchel, Indra's Vice Chairman, stated: “Besides cost reductions in the provision of IT services, the collaboration with Cisco will also allow to reinforce Indra's significant positioning in Cloud services and to guarantee further evolution by incorporating the necessary technologies to support the projects of our clients across the globe with increased expeditiousness, reliability and flexibility.”
