Indra Group, a holding company that fosters technological progress and comprises Indra and Minsait, has strengthened its position among the world’s most sustainable companies and as a leader of the technology sector by once again achieving an overall score of 87 points, according to the DJSI (Dow Jones Sustainability World Index).
Indra is the only company in its sector to have retained a place in this renowned global sustainability index for 19 consecutive years. More and more companies from around the world are seeking to join it and it is renewed each year with ever greater complexity while incorporating new and more demanding requirements.
In the corporate governance pillar, the technological company has scored 100 points in key areas such as transparency and reporting, business ethics, tax strategy and risk management.
In social terms, it lies within the 100th percentile by virtue of obtaining the highest score in labor practices and privacy protection (100th percentile) and occupying an excellent position in terms of occupational health and safety. Its work in attracting and retaining talent is also outstanding.
In the environmental field, Indra Group has achieved the highest score in energy efficiency (100 points) and performed well in its climate strategy, thanks to its commitment to decarbonization and bringing forward its emission reduction targets by 10 years in order to neutralize them in its operations by 2030 and in the value chain by 2040.
“Sustainability is a key cross-cutting pillar for all of the aims of our roadmap, as defined in our Leading the Future strategic plan. Our commitment involves improving our ESG performance and supporting our customers as they face the challenges of the 2030 Agenda, facilitating the transition to a low-carbon economy and promoting a positive impact on people and the planet”, declared Manuel Ausaverri, Indra Group’s Chief Strategy Officer.
Indra Group has also just been included in the “World’s Best Companies in Sustainable Growth 2025” ranking, drawn up by the American Time magazine and the Statista market research company, as one of the best companies in the world when it comes to sustainable growth.
In addition to seeking the best ESG performance and acting as the partner of its customers to make them more sustainable, Indra Group extends its commitment to its suppliers. For this purpose it has launched the ESG Plan Focus to facilitate hiring the most sustainable suppliers, ones that are capable of measuring and minimizing their impact on the environment, respecting human rights and promoting fair and ethical labor practices.
Indra Group is also working on its adaptation to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the EU’s new regulatory framework, by updating its reporting practices, implementing new technologies, training its staff and collaborating with external auditors to guarantee the transparency and quality of the information it provides on ESG matters.
Sustainable DNA
Indra Group’s activity focuses on generating value through the development of solutions combining innovation and sustainability. One good example of the above is the company’s commitment to train 100% of its design and product development engineers in eco-design by 2025 and adopt these criteria for all of its new hardware products designed from 2026 onwards so as to reduce the environmental impact of its solutions.
Indra Group has already started working along these lines in Indra’s Air Traffic Management (ATM) business with the eco-design of the PSR2D Radar, which has reduced its environmental impact by over 13% and its emissions by 15 tonnes of CO2 each year and more than 260 tonnes throughout its useful life.
Globally, approximately 13,000 publicly traded companies applied for inclusion in the DJSI World 2024, of which 321 were selected, including 16 Spanish companies.
With this acknowledgment, Indra Group has reaffirmed its standing as one of the companies best prepared to address the economic, social and environmental challenges of the future, consolidating its position as a global reference for sustainability.
