- The company will display in its stand DaVinci 2.0, the most advanced railway traffic management platform in the world, with navigation demonstrations simulating the operation of a control centre
- The solution developed by Indra for the design and modernisation of railway infrastructures, EDEN, as well as the company's ticketing technology, will also be on display
- Indra's commitment to the railway sector and to innovation has enabled the company to position its solutions at the cutting edge of the global industry, with references in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Malaysia and China
Indra, the top IT multinational in Spain and one of the leaders in Europe and Latin America, will present its most advanced solutions for the railway sector at Innotrans, the most important international industry fair, which will take place in Berlin from the 18th to the 21st of September.
The company will display in its stand the latest 2.0 version of the DaVinci system, the most advanced railway traffic management platform operating in the world. In addition to the DaVinci control workstation, Indra will install four videowalls equipped with TFT screens to perform navigation demonstrations simulating a control centre's operations.
DaVinci, developed by Indra and intellectual property of Adif, is the solution that will manage traffic in the future La Meca - Medina high-speed railway line. The platform has proven its potential and versatility by managing Spain's high-speed railway as well as other networks of different characteristics, like the Medellín subway. It is also the solution selected by Morocco and Lithuania to manage their respective railway networks.
Another solution that will be on display at Innotrans is EDEN, which was developed by Indra to design new railway infrastructures as well as to analyse and optimise existing ones. Among other applications, this solution allows to design and dimension all the necessary elements for building a new railway or to redesign an existing one by indicating, for example, the exact design of the interlocks, the elements that comprise the ATP (Automatic Train Protection) systems installed (Asfa, ERTMS, etc.). The result of Indra's in-depth knowledge of the railway sector, EDEN is the foundation on which to plan the technological needs related to control and signalling systems, etc., of a new infrastructure, as well as to modernise and optimise railways that are already in operation.
Indra's ticketing technology will also have a special area in the stand, where one of the latest devices for selling transportation tickets will be installed. Indra is one of the leading ticketing companies in the world, with references that include the Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Lisbon, Chile, Calcutta, Mumbai and Shanghai subways, the Mexico DF suburban railway, the St. Louis light train, the Austin light subway and the railway lines in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Saudi Arabia's first high-speed railway line will also be equipped with the multinational's contactless technology.
Cutting edge technology for the sector
Indra's commitment to the railway sector and to innovation has enabled the company to develop proprietary cutting edge technology with a high potential for exporting. This is proven by the La Meca - Medina AVE project that Indra is participating in, which will be the largest railway line in Saudi Arabia. The company will be responsible for implementing the railway traffic management systems, telecommunications, ticketing, security and information technology for the project.
In addition, Indra will continue making significant innovation efforts in order to develop state-of-the-art railway technologies within the framework of ERTMS Level 2 or ASFA Digital, among others.
For example, the company has developed a new RBC (Radio Block Centre) system to improve signalling within the future European railway management system (ERTMS Level 2). The system developed by Indra is currently completing the interoperability certification and homologation process at Adif's Centro Tecnológico Ferroviario (CTF, Railway Technology Centre) in Málaga.
