- Both organisations express their interest in promoting joint technology projects
- Indra gains a better position for tenders in Russia and Russian Technologies makes an ally in Europe and Latin America
Government-owned Russian Technologies and Indra, the premier IT Company in Spain and a leading IT multinational in Europe, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which expresses their commitment to promote joint technology projects.
Both companies have identified numerous common sectors of activity where they can collaborate; for instance, transport and traffic management, healthcare, public administrations, finance, industry and homeland-security and defence.
Indra, with its alliance with Russia’s main holding of technology companies, seeks to promote its presence in the Russian market as well as in those economies where the country has some influence.
This way, the possibilities for the Spanish company to participate in the country's infrastructure modernisation programmes increase. The agreement is in line with Indra's expansion strategy to the international market, especially regarding those economies with a growth potential. On the other hand, Russian Technologies will reinforce its position in Europe and Latin America, where the company already operates and Indra holds a significant leadership.
The cooperation agreement is the result of bilateral contact established on occasion of the Spain-Russia Dual Year, which propelled relations between both nations. In May this year, at Russia's Technical, Scientific and Innovative Achievements exhibition Indra contacted managers of several companies within Russian Technologies and expressed its interest in cooperation.
Russian Technologies has already collaborated with Indra in a research and development project called Manta. It consists of an innovative aircraft protection system which is currently underway. In addition to this, Indra also concluded successfully the modernisation of the air control centres of Rostov, Moscow and Mineralnievodi.
Russian Technologies State Corporation is designed to assist Russian organisations-developers and manufacturers of high technology industrial products in their development, production and exports by providing support in domestic and foreign markets and attracting investors.
