- The company reinforces its position as Brazil’s main satellite communications systems supplier
Indra will provide rapid deployment satellite communications systems to Brazil’s armed forces. The contract was awarded through public tender where Indra competed with the main companies of the sector. The market price for this type of systems is around USD 5 M.
This new project reaffirms Indra’s position as the main satellite terminal supplier for the Brazilian Ministry of Defence.
The company will deliver Fly-Away satellite communications systems which are characterised by their light-weight, are easily portable and can be smoothly deployed. This technology guarantees communications with the satellite can be established from the most distant location.
Indra has contributed to consolidate the satellite network of the Ministry of Defence (SISCOMIS network), not only by supplying different Satcom terrestrial and naval terminals, but also by developing the management system of the network.
The company collaborates periodically with the country’s armed forces since 2005 in projects related with satellite military communications, radars and electronic defence systems.
