The Korean Airport Corporation (KAC) has awarded Indra a contract for the supply and installation of Indra’s Normarc Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) with a total value of approximately EUR 6 million.

The systems are used by aircraft for navigating safely to the ground, and will be installed at the airports of
Ulsan, Muan and Yeosu. In addition, KAC will have separate systems to be used for testing and training of technical personnel.

KAC already uses Indra’s InNOVA tower systems at several airports, but this is the first contract for navigational aids. The contract has been negotiated together with Daeyang. The first delivery will be already in October 2021.

“Indra has been a professional partner in this and previous projects and has demonstrated their competence within navigation. We look forward to start using the Normarc navigation systems.”, comments Yongcheol Lee, Manager, KAC.

“KAC’s quality requirements are high, even for the air traffic industry. Yet, our systems have passed all flight checks. We are proud to be the preferred supplier and look forward to working with KAC on this project”, says Tomas Lübeck, International Sales Manager, Indra.
