  • The platform supports all the activities of the sector's value chain and stands out thanks to the extensiveness of the product portfolio it operates and the corresponding launch speed.

iONE, the core solution by the technological multinational Indra for the insurance business, has received the “XCelent Technology 2012” award from Celent, the division of the prestigious consulting firm Oliver Wyman that focuses on helping financial institutions and industry providers in defining technology and business strategies. The award recognises iONE as the most advanced technological platform in 2012 for the life insurance business in Latin America.

iONE has been developed as an evolution of Indra's solutions portfolio for the insurance sector. It has been extremely successful commercially, with a deep penetration in Latin America, and it has already been implemented at customers in more than 20 countries throughout the region. iONE's design addresses the most cutting edge sector trends and it has been built using the latest technologies in order to provide the market with a highly innovative solution that has an extensive history in the insurance business.

Indra's platform has been selected based on the 2012 Latin American Policy Administration Systems Report: Life, Annuities and Health ABCD Vendor View. In this report, Celent analyses the top solutions available to the life insurance business in the Latin American market and selects the winning company by applying demanding criteria.

According to Juan Mazzini, Celent's Director of Latin America and the author of this report, "iONE is the most innovative Policy Administration Solution (PAS) in the Latin American market for life insurance and pensions. Using the experience from its previous solution as a base, Indra has known how to combine it with a modern programming language and a service oriented architecture that has allowed customers to experience the benefits of its easy integration with any solution. Insurance companies searching for a PAS that can be integrated with a modern corporate solutions architecture, such as one that interacts with BPM (Business Process Management) solutions, must consider iONE as one of their alternatives."

iONE currently covers the individual and group insurance policy business, operating with risk products, actuarial and financial savings, income and pensions. It has been specifically designed to comprise a suite of fully modular products that can cover all of the insurance sector's business and branches because there are plans to complete the suite with health, auto and general insurance modules.

Shorter time-to-market and highly flexible

In terms of differentiating business operations aspects, iONE stands out thanks to its simplicity in how products are designed and launched, providing insurance companies with a very competitive time-to-market.  It is also a highly flexible solution that allows configuring the most extensive product portfolios on the market, and its design emanates from a customer-focused solution philosophy, with fully integrated modules and branches, offering a global vision of the business and high operating efficiency.

From a technological perspective, it stands out because it is process oriented and it is also based on Business Process Standards (BPM) and a service oriented architecture (SOA). This makes it possible to control the situation of any business process in the company by analysing its status at any time. It also facilitates its integration with any other system or solution on the market and allows to quickly develop the platform so it may be adapted to the changes of a competitive environment.

Indra has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance market. At this time, eight of the ten leading Spanish companies and more than 50 corporations around the world are customers of the technological multinational. Indra offers solutions and services that cover the business' value chain, ranging from consulting services to the design and implementation of solutions, as well as full business process outsourcing and technological management services.
