Microsoft partners with Minsait to accelerate the secure migration of spanish companies and public authorities

Microsoft has expanded its partnership with Minsait, an Indra company, to offer Spanish companies and public authorities a comprehensive range of hybrid cloud solutions and services to facilitate and accelerate their migration to the cloud. This joint offering includes monitoring and encryption services to extend the security and privacy of the data in the Microsoft cloud so as to meet its data sovereignty needs.

Minsait and Microsoft will provide solutions that meet the most demanding legal and technical requirements for the trusted cloud principles and data sovereignty, in accordance with the criteria defined by the EDPB (European Data Protection Board) nationwide.

Minsait will guarantee the management of external encryption keys, access and identities, and monitor and track cyberthreats via its Cybersecurity Operations Center. It will also provide infrastructure management services in a hybrid cloud model with Microsoft in order to rapidly and consistently adopt the standards of the various institutions, guaranteeing the service’s operations by physically auditing and monitoring the data centers required by the customers for the service.

As for Microsoft, it will provide hybrid cloud services that extend the privacy and security guarantees to meet the data sovereignty needs. These guarantees include certification of compliance with the high level of the National Security Scheme, a contractual commitment to its customers to legally oppose requests for access to their data by any government where there exists a legal basis to do so, and the option for the company’s customers to process and store data within the EU for Microsoft’s core cloud services: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365.

The combined capabilities of Minsait and Microsoft will accelerate the digital transformation and migration to the cloud of Spanish companies and public authorities via Microsoft’s current cloud environment, as well as the new Data Center Cloud Region that the company is set to open in Spain shortly. This will feature the most advanced technologies for reducing the carbon footprint of Spanish customers and contribute to environmental sustainability.

“Thanks to our partnership with Microsoft, we’ll be able to help Spanish organizations incorporate the latest technologies to promote a secure and successful recovery in Spain with a sustainable approach and all the security and encryption guarantees required to protect citizens’ rights and information privacy”, said Carlos Beldarrain, Head of Data Cloud at Minsait.

“Our partnership with Minsait will accelerate the adoption of cloud solutions that meet all the security and privacy requirements defined by the EDPB, thus meeting the data control needs of Spanish companies and public authorities”, stated Alberto Granados, Chairman of Microsoft Spain.

This agreement comes after the one signed last June by the two companies, whereby Microsoft recognizes Minsait as a strategic partner in Data and Analytics for its new Data Center Cloud Region in Spain. Minsait was also named 2021 Partner of the Year in Spain by Microsoft for the Data and Power Platform categories at “Inspire 2021”, one of Microsoft’s most important events.

Minsait has a unique proposition in the Cloud-Data field to aid companies and organizations in their transition to cloud services, from the transformation of core systems, with proprietary methodologies developed from experience, to the creation of digital native assets and processes based on knowledge of the data, always upholding its commitment to generating impact.
To do this, it relies on a strong end-to-end technological ecosystem based on strategic alliances with the main cloud providers and a network of more than 5,000 professionals who specialize in the most important technologies.

Microsoft was the first hyperscale cloud provider to obtain the National Security Scheme high-level compliance certification in 2016, demonstrating the company’s undertaking to deliver cloud products with the most stringent security requirements. This certification is available for all three Microsoft public clouds: Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365. Microsoft was also the first provider to offer Azure Confidential Computing services. These Microsoft cloud services add in-use protection to the existing protection for data in transit and at rest, ensuring the utmost privacy.
