Specifications
The scenarios in which surface vessels carry out their missions are changing, but they all share two key requirements: protection and a knowledge of the environment.
Electronic defence systems analyze the electromagnetic environment and react to potential threats for the vessel. These protection mechanisms are complemented by systems that detect contamination from radioactive dust and chemical or biological substances, allowing the crew to continue their mission without exposure to these risks.
Radars and sonar and electro-optical systems can detect and locate every surface, aerial and submarine platform operating within the vessel's environment. IFF systems using the most advanced standards (Mode S and Mode 5) identify the platforms, guaranteeing the security of the non-hostile ones.
The vessel's ranges of observation can be extended beyond the horizon by using unmanned platforms integrated with the combat system.
Satellite communication terminals ensure that vessels remain permanently in contact with their command and control center.
