IE University and Indra have combined their innovative nature, knowledge and experience in business management and human resources, along with the search for executive excellence and professional leadership, to launch the first "Observatory for obtaining and analysing the profiles and professional careers of the presidents and CEOs of leading companies of reference." The dean of IE University, Francisco Mata, and Indra's Director of University Relations, Carlos Fernández, signed the agreement for creating the Observatory today, 18 May, at the Segovia Campus. This agreement will create a joint team for observing and analysing the skill set associated to this group.

The objectives of the Observatory, which will be located in the Casa de Moneda cultural building in Segovia, are to analyse and study the professional career of presidents and CEOs at large companies, to list the various professional milestones that must be reached, and to help define the ideal profiles of the future presidents and chairmen of organisations as well as the members of their teams.

To do so, research based on analysing existing business leaders and studying leading national and international companies will be carried out. It will also be attempted to answer questions such as: What can the president of a company achieve? How is a company managed in the 21st century? What lies behind an innovative leader and a transformer?

A Monitoring Commission will ensure the Observatory's proper operation and will propose, with the collaboration of professors and/or students from the university, different research topics. This Commission will be comprised by IE University professor Ignacio Urrutia, and the director of Indra's People Excellence in Consulting, Manuel Naharro, who were both present at the signing event in Segovia.

IE University will be responsible for carrying out the research and Indra will provide its knowledge in methodologies, Human Resources consultancy, leadership and corporate transformation.

Commitment to innovation and talent

According to the director of Indra University Relations, Carlos Fernández, “this agreement with IE University forms part of Indra's commitment to innovation, knowledge and excellence in corporate management." "The university is an essential source of knowledge that allows the company to maintain this commitment towards constantly improving in all areas," he added.

"The alliance between IE University and Indra is key because both institutions consider innovation and talent as identifying symbols," stated Francisco Mata, Dean of IE University. "The agreement will make it possible to analyse and observe top individuals at leading companies. This observatory will be a link between the university and corporate reality, and it will help our future graduates understand first-hand what the presidents of leading Spanish companies and internationals experience, feel and ask themselves.

Indra maintains relations with approximately 200 universities and research centres, primarily through chairs, agreements and R&D projects, and all with the objective of becoming an international reference in the university-company model of collaboration and technological transfer.

Indra's good talent management practices have allowed it to become one of the top companies in the world in terms of sustainability, as shown by its appearance in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the sixth straight year. The IT multinational also has more than ten years of experience in global consulting and human resource management projects. The company combines its knowledge of the different areas and years of experience in detection, attraction, assessment models, and traditional talent development with the new tendencies related to managing constantly changing environments and the new knowledge-based society.
