We have developed Maritime Single Windows for Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Chile, Morocco, and Cape Verde, with our solutions currently implemented in over 150 ports.
The excellent experience gained from designing, developing, and implementing the Maritime Single Window in Portugal (JUP, 2009, now JUL), coupled with a strong commitment to Port Authorities, enabled Indra to win bids for subsequent Maritime Single Windows. This included Spain (Dueport), which went into service in 2015, followed by the development of Maritime Single Windows for Cyprus (VUP), Morocco (PORTNET, 2016), Cape Verde (JUP), and Chile (VUMAR, 2020).
The Maritime Single Window allows for the standardization, simplification, and harmonization of associated procedures to facilitate maritime transport by integrating all port community organizations and agents involved in port operation business processes, while also serving as a mechanism for document exchange among them.
Among its main benefits are:
- Increased efficiency of cargo transport and clearance
- Enhanced control and inspection of goods
- Electronic cargo manifest integration
- Integration with Customs, Access Control, Railway Operator, Land Cargo Operator, and Terminals
- Integration with EMSA
- Integration with Border Control
- Integration with Police
- Integration with Ministry of Defense
- Integration with EMSWe
- Integration with port PCS
- Access to the entire port community
- Notification system for all system users
- 24x7 availability
- Electronic processing including B2B and B2A processes
- 100% Paperless Port
- Reduced complexity of information exchange
- Reduction of procedural and administrative bureaucracy
Currently, Indra is working on adapting Spain's Maritime Single Window (Dueport) to Regulation 2019/1239/EU of the European Single Window (EMSWe) and the EU Customs Code. Indra will be responsible for its maintenance and user support until 2028. Additionally, Dueport is being implemented as a Local Single Window (LSW) in numerous Spanish ports.
This update will harmonize the information managed by different European ports and significantly improve the information flows handled by the involved administrations at the European level, resulting in faster operational decision-making by ports and contributing to improved security through information exchange.
