Our product
Multilateration solution able to work as a standalone system to track targets in the terminal area or integrated as a part of an Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (ASMGCS).
The Wide Area Multilateration (WAM) extends the use of Multilateration technology to TMA and En-route surveillance. Our Wide Area Multilateration systems are flexible solutions characterised by the simplicity of deployment and the highest performances.
Particularly, our WAM Solution provides the best accuracy in the market while reducing the number of deployed stations. Indra's WAM technology has been selected by Eurocontrol as the most accurate solution to update its Height Monitoring Systems.
This system provides all of the advantages of multilateration technology and can be fully adapted to customer requirements. It can work alone or integrated with other surveillance systems as part of an A-SMGCS. MLAT system consists on a distribution of receiving and transmitting stations inside an airport that receive the squitters and replies from the targets and a redundant Central process station. This Central process station correlates all the replies received and with the timestamp information calculates the position of the targets. The MLAT system is distributed.
In this way and not as rotating radars, the system permanently receives data, so updating information is much faster than traditional surveillance systems. In addition, the effect of shadows caused by buildings can be reduced to the minimum in the design phase and the service is provided in all parts of the aerodrome.
Our WAM system provides a cost-effective surveillance solution with low maintenance, scalable and flexible architecture, easy deployment and best accuracy in the market. Indra WAM system consists of a distribution of receiving and transmitting stations deployed around the desired coverage volume. A Central process station correlates all the replies received and with the timestamp information calculates the position of the targets. When necessary, the ECP orders the transmitting stations to interrogate in order to obtain the required information for targets.
